Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First Roadbike: rebuilt cannondale r300

Hello

I've been looking for my first road bike and I found a 2000 cannondale r300 that has been rebuilt with SRAM apex complete group set, mavic askium wheels and gatorskin tires. The frame is a 52cm. I am about 5'6" and I am about to grow being only a sophomore in highschool. If possible id like to have this bike for the rest of highschool. Would this bike be a good option?

Thanks!

Yes, this would be a perfect bike to start out on.

I'm 5'11" and ride a 56cm. You shkuld be fine. There is usually a bit of wiggle room for bike sizing, depending on your inseam, arm length, torso length, bu that sounds like a good size to start out with, for your height.

by the time you grow hopefully you will be more flexible too. then all you need is to raise that seatpost and a longer stem.
