Pro-like Kit Items
So this strikes me as interesting and I was wondering what everyone's take on it was. So pros have their leaders jerseys and their championship bands and what not.
I see in a number of places where you can buy a yellow, green, polka dot or whatever jersey. The other day I saw socks that had the world champion stripes on them. I know you can't wear them in a sanctioned race -- but what would you do if someone came to your regular club ride in something like that? Or you passed them on the road? Would you be like "Oh cool, where'd you get that?" or "Who does THIS cat think they are??" I could see where it would be neat for fun, kind of like wearing your favorite hockey player's sweater or something. But then I could see too like "You are nowhere near where you can wear yellow, pal."
Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts were.

How do you think cycling stays in business? There are no ticket sales, etc... It's just fan gear, like anything else. The only difference is, I can't go play football in a stadium wearing a Manning jersey. I can however, ride all over the green earth wearing my favorite riders team kit (if I wanted to). Personally, I enjoy collecting club kits from all over. Believe me, no one cares if I'm rolling down the road in a Sky kit, or in a yellow TdF jersey, or a pair of socks with worlds stripes on them...and if they did care, I think it would say more about them then it does about me.

^^^^this.... why is this worried about what socks some stranger is wearing? Who even looks at other cyclists to begin with? and why do you even care?
How about this..ride your bike and wear what you wnat... and for the hell of it don't worry about what others are wearing. Try it, the world won't end.

Whenever I see some fat, white guy wearing a LeBron James jersey I want to say, "You know on TV you look a lot taller and Black."

I have one USA team jersey with WC stripes on the sleeve cuff, and basically almost nobody on any group ride knows what that means. It means I bought the jersey off ebay. The people I ride with who know what the stripes mean don't care which is basically the same attitude as the people who don't know what the stripes mean.
