Help needed: 13' Specialized Ruby Compact w/Shimano Sora
Ok guys and gals, I am needing some help. I am looking at getting a 2013 Specialized Ruby Compact w/Shimano Sora for the misses. I found what I think is a good deal, $800 w/pump(the lady only road it 3 times and cannot deal with the back pain) in showroom condition with less than 50 miles on it. Trying to see is the Shimano Sora groupset is any good for a newbie, to road bikes anyway. I am a SRAM guy and have no experience with Shimano.

The 9sp Sora is OK but a little sloppy IMO. For $800 you can afford to upgrade it to Shimano 105 5800 and still only have ~$1500 invested which is cheap for that bike. She can always ride it for a while before deciding on whether or not to upgrade the bike.
