Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Loctite comes in several versions. I forgot the specific color (maybe blue) but one is for secure but not permanent. Use that and you can break it free should you need adjusting later or when it's time to change cleats.

The cleats are moving even when mounted with the specified torque?

If you properly torque the cleats (depending on what Bont calls for) you should be fine.. typically around 5 nm. The cleats screws should essentially fuse with the threads in your shoes. Not a bad idea to add a pinch of a oil to the screw for future adjustment.

Silly question maybe but this is the 41... after you've tightened bolt number three do you go back and tighten them all again?

I stand behind the what feels good off the bike should feel good on the bike idea.
Shoes that can be heat molded have been around for many years - this is nothing new. They've been used in carbon inline boots and ice skating boots for long time. Since technique is critical in both these sports, its important to get the fit just right and get rid of the hot spots. Bont has specialized in the inline and ice skating boots and recently gotten into cycling shoes. It gives the cyclist the opportunity to better customize their fit.

Yes I do. I adjusted the tension on the PEDAL and didn't have the issue since, but I have also tightened the bolts to 5nm which for some reason I never thought about. Was kind of a duh moment. I need to tighten the tension back up and see if it holds now that the bolts are to speck.

glad to have you join the forum buddy. When I read that comment I just read it as if it was some random person. I hadn't looked at who it was. I'm excited to take you out for your maiden voyage on your new bike tomorrow. Go post that new Caad10 in the cult of caad.

How tight does 5NM feels like? I did re align my cleats for two shoes I have and they don't slip at all. I don't have a torque wrench so I just tighten everything by feel. I do the same with my seatpost clamp and stem. I wouldn't advise on doing it but it works for me.

5NM feels pretty tight. I'd recommend getting a ritchey 5nm torque wrench. They are $20 at most places and will be used a lot.
