Upgrade cheap wheels??

has anyone ever tried replacing the hubs/spokes on bottom of the barrel wheels like the r500's, fulcrum7's etc...

Probably not worth it on that low of a set. I'm considering replacing the orange nipples on a set of Racing 5's.

i figured. still it would be an interesting experiment to try in the future

You can certainly do it, but what would be the benefit? Is there something lacking in the current hubs and spokes? If I was going to the effort, I'd get new rims too; KinLin XC279, Pacenti SL23, BHS Kinlin equivalent, etc...
