Congrats on the new bike and thanks for posting the pics - that thing is sexy as hell. Your impressions reflect my own. As I've now done a few frisky descents, I've been really impressed with the bike's stability at speed. Rock solid and confidence-inspiring. Happy riding.

Just to add, slightly late to the party, after trying a few of the "Grandfondo" type bikes around, and devouring the reviews, came across a Rokh frame in my size, bought it without even trying it - and would endorse all of the above. Very stable, very comfortable, a smooth, efficient ride, a great climber and ... the thing that has most blown me away ... a great descender. I just don't know how they make a bike that you can go through corners that much faster without even remotely feeling like you're out of your comfort zone - or the bike's.

I'm coming off a light, zippy frame, and found some of the "comfort" bikes just a bit sluggish - not so the Rokh. I wouldn't say it was light and zippy, but it responds instantly and without fuss. It's easy to get going and, just as importantly, easy to keep going once you get up to speed.

I'd recommend adding it to any list to test ride along with Defy, Synapse, Roubaix, Domane, Solace etc. The only shame is that they don't have a higher profile.

BTW, worth checking the geometry. Has a slightly slacker seat tube and shorter TT than most of these kinds of bikes, as well as a slightly shorter back end - which is still longer than the out and out 'race' bikes, so plenty of stability and balance there. Also, it's not quite as high in the head tube as some, though I would imagine it's plenty high enough for most of us. Just on the geometry as well, people often talk about it in the same breath as the Kobh/Dogma K, but for me they're quite different. The Dogma K has a lot shorter head tube and overall, is more of a "race" position, albeit with a longer and more comfort-oriented rear end.

I considered the Rokh buy went with the Colnago clx instead. Both are awesome but I was able to buy a frame only and piece out the entire bike. I tossed and turned over a wilier gtr though. I love my bike but still wonder about the gtr. How do you like it?

I would love to test the new Rokh. It hadn't been on my radar or short list but based upon the reviews I read, it is basically a slightly kinder/gentler Dogma with a slightly taller head tube and a bit longer wheelbase and more affordable lower mod carbon fiber that adds a bit of weight. The thing this bike resonates to me, is it has the pedigreed race quality of the dogma but with the geometry of a Roubaix...what I ride. To me, that is the best of both worlds. It isn't the stiffness of a race bike that bothers me, its the geometry and the Rokh has perhaps a finer edge than a Roubaix, Domane or Emonda when it comes to feeling the road and communicating power.

So its on my list of bikes to consider when/if I decide to replace my Roubaix. Other thing is, I wish it was available in a frameset as I like to build with Campy and specify parts...so I would have to buy the bike and then part out the components if I wanted one.

Reading Pinarello's website, for 2015, they are devolving/regressing or perhaps more accurately advanced their BB's back to Italian threaded. Bravo! Another reason to get a new Pina. Now you can mount Campy, Shimano, Sram, Rotor cranks etc plug and play...no adaptation. Pinarello with their new bikes seems to be getting it. I honestly dismissed the Italian brand for carbon because they were a slow adaptor. But seems like they have played catch up and of course the pedigree of the company comes through in their target for ride and handling and undeniable sexy Italian shape and paint jobs. The dogma for you hard core guys is also said to be a fantastic bike.

Liking the GTR very much!

The GTR model has a shorter head tube that the GTS - shorter than most, if not all, the "fondo" type bikes; I wanted to replicate the position from #1 bike, Cervelo S2.

The fitted Syntace Racelite2 bars are a big longer and deeper, so the drops position is spot on, whilst the bartops are a bit higher.

Any road, the bike rides great! The front end seems to go over stuff easier, but is also "stiff" (overused word, hmm) ...uhm, responsive to torquing from standing position... and steers wonderfully. The back also seems to roll over stuff nicely, but isn't noodly. I don't regret it one bit. The bike's "purpose" is long rides and rough roads (just wanted a new bike, ok?). It does both great, and is barely slower than my #1 bike, if any.

Hope that helps! It's hard to compare bikes that have different wheels on them. The GTR is has custom wheels - HED C2 rims, T11 hubs; just the additional air volume makes a big big difference - and I run a 25 in back. The S2 has EA90SL wheels, 23mm tyres.

The S2 deserves new wheels, haha!

When next I wipe it all down and fit new bar tape, I'll take some pics and post a reevieew

I am new to this thread so thought I would add my perspective. I just bought a 2014 Rokh with Dura-Ace in a sale of last years stock at a bike show in the UK. I have been riding a Bianchi Sempre 105 for the last 4 years. The Rokh is definitely a step up. The frame is light and stiff, it is very responsive and stable and feels very nimble. It is relaxed and climbs especially well. I upgraded the standard MOST wheels to Fulcrum Racing 3s - definitely an improvement. I would echo the other comments on here - a very accomplished long-distance companion. Oh - and it looks gorgeous too!

Just reading with interest this thread, buying a bike like a Pinarello is very personal and once you look over the technical mumbo jumbo it comes down to how it makes you feel. It's hard to buy a bike based on a technical review, that's why this forum was quite insightful for me to check peoples comments and feelings about the rokh

I've got into road cycling and been looking around for a granfondo bike, i like to do long rides and just find my current bike rather uncomfortable after 80k or so - it a Scott Speedster 50, nothing fancy but didnt want to spend loads of money initially only to decide i didnt like cycling so thought its ok for a start.

Spent a couple of months riding it and loving cycling, now looking around for a suitable upgrade and stumbled across the pinarello rokhg - the reason for pinarello is simply that i love way they look and the rokh is a good balance for granfondo riding. I also love italian things - my wife included!

I've tried out the BMC GF01 and just couldn't get on with it, felt smooth like butter but clinical like it didnt have any heart in it. The Rokh just felt right. I picked a display model up for a really good price with the ultra groupset and it just felt brilliant during the test ride. I will post again ater riding it a few 100 kilometres and tell you how i get on with it - that's when you really start to understand how good it is!
