Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

every post you make... it's something negative! there's a tree, you're frozen, it's wet, something broke, etc.

I feel bad for you, having such a bad time with cycling, but I'm glad you keep at it.

Rode around the San Jacinto Battle Ground for 11.1 km (I know not even a warm up for some)
It is a cool place to ride lots of short elevation changes, curves, round abouts, light traffic and cool site in general, then rode across to the Battleship Texas BB-35, and down to the Monument Inn/ Lynchburg Ferry/ Juan Seguin park.

This is a good day!

I did the Saturday group ride (it's mellow pace in the winter, about a 21mph avg for the 55mi and 2000ft of gain) and then added a 900ft climb on the way home, here we are at the top

Took a 27 mile loop around my local area: Winter Park, FL, Baldwin Park, with a few bike trails in between. Also paced 20 feet behind another biker who was cooking along pretty good. Starting to feel more confident taking sharp turns at speed.

My brother and i rode 23.6 miles up and down stevens creek trail in mountainview. today had sunny skies and heavy winds from the north. in the ride my brother wanted to switch bikes and see what a pro saddle felt like, outcome he hated the hard romin evo saddle so we swapped back and rode home. my fitness is increasingly getting better, 5"7 at 139lbs, mountain bike has cyclocross 35c tires and a road saddle, my frankenbike.

I rode a whopping 7.4 miles around beautiful downtown Lomax, quite a stiff south breeze.
It was a good workout, my legs were shaking getting off the bike.

Did 16.5 Miles today before I got a flat and then while trying to fix it discovered my pump had broken. Wasn't happy as I was planning a 50 mile ride and had to wait in the cold for my ride to come get me.

Here I am stranded and freezing my butt off:

haven't ridden in like 2 weeks. sick kids and a bathroom remodel wiped me out. finally got out today for a quick 16 miles. felt great to finally try out new wheels and brakes, which lived up to every expectation. aside from people being in the way, logged my 2nd best time thus far. had the crossings and people not been so annoying, easily could have beat all previous times.

now i feel like death though. legs are pretty pissed off.

20 miles around town. Went up quite a few hilly roads because the MUP was covered in mud. Chilly (40F) but insanely warm for the end of December. Usually there is a few feet of snow by now, but there currently is none.

I rode 35.4 miles from palo alto to san jose with the san tomas and Guadalupe trail. This morning it was 36F with light winds, pretty chilly. I saw some bikers and joggers on the trails. I did 225 miles in six days of this week biking.
