Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you had been concentrating on riding and not on doing Candace, this probably wouldn't have happened!

In the photo of the bike from a few weeks ago, the bike is cross chained from the large chainring to the large cog. There is a lot of tension on the rear derailleur if the chain is short. If you rode the bike in this configuration and the chain is short, failure could have happened with either derailleur.

part it out/keep bits for rainy day and make the frame wall art.

not sure how you completely snapped the lower pulley on the derailleur clean off.

If you look closely enough, you can see the crack on the seat tube right at the FD tab in the pic you shot a week before the accident. Just saying.

Just kidding - duh. Happy shopping! You sticking with Scott or looking elsewhere?

elsewhere postman dropped this off to me a few weeks ago , I"am using everything off the Scott , except the derailleurs ofcourse I have also went with some newer 105 Shifters with the hidden cables (model 5700), I had owned a Cannondale System Six a few years ago and regretted selling it , so I bought this Six13 f/f to build up.
