What's Trek's deal with the letters A D E M N O?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What's Trek's deal with the letters A D E M N O?

Madone. Domane. Emonda. Really, Trek? Do these bike lines really need to be anagrams?

Nah, Daemon will be the next bike they release. It will go on your rides for you in the background while you work during the day.

If you add up the numerical equivalents, you get 666.

1000, 1200, 1500.......... that's all they needed. At least then I knew what bike it was without having to research.

Emonda - French To Trim / Latin Prune https://cyclingdynamics.blogspot.co.u...n-english.html

Madone - French Col Climbing the Col de la Madone | CyclingTips

Domane - Latin Kings Crown Trek Domane launch: Pave-busting road bike with? suspension + video | road.cc

Although the Deamon idea is better than all these.

Why does this bother you? Seems to me like nothing more than a neat way to tie together the different model names.

Perhaps the Trek Modena will be next in honor of the Italian city. I am partial to Daemon, however.

I'd rather have it go to work for me while I ride.

Madone is legit as a place name.

But Domane? I dunno about the "king's crown" thing in Latin...I can't find any credible reference for that definition.

How about a line of randonneur bikes called Meando, touring bikes called Nomade, or a line of utility bikes called Mondea? And after some Irish guy wins the Tour de France, they'll be ready with Eamond, and could even make it a verb if he wins a few: Eamon'd!

Yeah, Trek is onto something here with this letter combination!

Nomade used to be a Motobecane touring model from the 1970s. I owned one at one point. Bikes Direct may still own the trademark?

Maybe they can sell it to Trek for the rights to use some newer frame tech.
