Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What do you think a 2001 Cannondale R600 CAAd4 should cost now?

Looking at a 2001 Cannondale R600 CAAd4 that has been sitting for about 3 years in a dry shed. What do you guys think it is worth these days and what maintenance would be involved. Thanks

Really depends on condition. Very good-$450-500. OK-$300.
Probably needs a new chain and and maybe cables, tires and tubes. Check headset, bottom bracket, wheel bearings. Check for seized stem, seat post.

I would expect to be paid at least $50 for taking it off their hands and freeing shed space.

This is one case where the blue book looks accurate. If you look at sold ebay auctions it looks like people have been getting $300-500:

cannondale r600 | eBay

If you are in a hot market and it's in good shape I would expect $300 to be the lowest. If you are in someplace without a big used bike market you might be able to get it cheaper
