Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Time to vote; anything less would be a 41 disservice.

There should be a race. To the death. And it should be video-taped for all of BF to see. We are all too emotionally invested to let it go at this point.

Race for sure, but there should be a group hug afterwards, no matter who wins.

The poll I wanted to see was, "Who would you rather ride with: OTP or 'that guy'?".

+1, and stop giving him fuel by saying you were going all out or that you'll beat him next time. That just feeds him. Ride your ride and let him ride his.

"That guy", assuming I'm not trying to recovery or something. Nothing against OTP, but I enjoy battling it out with people, especially since it's not something you really get to do in running. I'm not going to initiate attacks, but if someone does attack I'm going to chase like hell and have a good time duking it out.

I still say fisticuffs at the end of a ride. Take off the cycling shoes and throw down. If "that guy" chickens out then he loses cred and on the path gains the upper hand. Plus if I remember right, these are middle aged men. After fighting for a brief moment, they might find out it is more fun to ride bikes and needle each other. Fighting's not fun, even if you are winning.

There’s only one thing to do. You go away for one year, give up your entire life to train every day with a top master cycling coach (roll the montage music/film). After one year you come back in top form except you show up to the group ride on a crappy Magna bike wearing flip flops. You proceed to crush him in every way shape and form even taunting him by waiting a bit and then zooming away again. At some point you pause for him where he breathlessly ask you were you’ve been the past year. At this you reply “Oh I’ve been recovering from a life threatening illness this is my first day back riding a bike. This illness has taught me that cycling is all about the joy of riding and not about speed.” With a wry smile you blast off again leaving him completely demoralized.

You forgot the bikini. And it's a Cervelo, not a Magna.
