    Road wheelsets from Niagara Cycle?

I found what appears to be a good deal on road wheelsets from Niagara Cycle (Mavic Open Pro w/ Shimano 105 or Ultegra hubs). Both sets are also available through Amazon, where Niagara is the seller. I'm alarmed by a couple comments for the Ultegra set on Amazon because they say they basically received junk rims. I've never bought anything from Niagara. Are they a reputable dealer? I like the prices I'm seeing, but I don't want to get burned.

I've ordered a few small items from them and had a good experience. But I'm talking about one or two <$20 purchases.

Always had great service with Niagara, my only beef with them is the shipping times!

They're my go-to source for tubes. And I do recommend them for that. Haven't gotten anything else, though.

I have no opinion, but have read folks complaining about "new" Open Pros. They used to be very highly regarded, but we are starting to read about them not being so wonderful any more. Do a little research on the net.

    +1 to robert.

Also, unless stated otherwise those could also be machine built wheels and have not been stress relieved or tension balanced. And they uses straight gage spokes.

    Pass.

They're not the cheapest wheels but I've had very good experience with handspun or quality bike product wheels. These are well built wheels that are properly tensioned and come true right out of the box. I really like the shimano 105/velocity A23 wheelset (it comes in 32 and 36 hole versions): Quality Wheels 700c Front Wheel - 105 Hub Laced to Black Velocity A23 - 36H in Tree Fort Bikes Wheels (cat113)

Pretty much everyone either carries these or can get them since QBP is a major wholesaler. The A23s are a little wider than the open pros which is a plus.

I have never purchased wheels from them but I did purchase a stem from them. The shipping time was a little slower than I would have expected but the item did arrive as advertised. I would order from them again but only if I did not need the item in a hurry. They are legit based on my experience.

I have had no problems with product I've purchased from Niagara Cycle, but I accept that delivery is going to be slow. Some orders have taken weeks.

No problem with many order I've had with Niagara Cycle works. As other have said shipping can take 1-2 weeks+ depending on what you're ordering.
Check out Velomine.com for great pricing on wheelsets. I purchased new 6800 Ultegra Hubs with Velocity A23 rims wheelset for my wife's Cross/touring bike for just $249.00 shipped. So far they've been great.
Velomine sells on ebay too but they are cheaper directly from the website

I have ordered a bunch of stuff from Niagra including wheels. Their prices are very competitive. In my experience shipping is only slow if one of the items you ordered is not in stock. They won't send a partial order and will hold the whole order until they have everything. Their customer service is good, so call or email if you have a question. Some of the wheel descriptions are incomplete on the website.

+1 on Velomine.com. I ordered a track wheelset from them. Price was great, wheelset was great.

I have the Ultegra/Open Sport rear wheel from Niagara via Amazon on my Stanyan.
Good price & quality: properly true, dished & stress relieved & laced w/ 14/15ga spokes 3X.

I just received a fork from Niagara (via Amazon) and it took 6 days to arrive. I think Amazon prime has warped my expectations. Six days used to be be an acceptable wait unless you wanted to pay through the nose for 2 or 3 day shipping.
