3.3 miles in pouring down rain. I wore my swimming trunks cuz it's more fun to be soaking wet in swimming trunks than most other apparel.
Rode a 24-speed MTB, even hit the gravel section, which was maybe 40% under water.

First I had a nice ride.
Then I did an MRI of the cervical spine in a little dog, drew my conclusions despite there being a big artifact on the study from a microchip in the dog, this artifact is obscuring some of the fine details of the images unfortunately. As always, awaiting radiologist's opinion before I call owner. Then the radiologist calls me and tells me his conclusions from the study, which are substantially different from my interpretations. We go through the study slice by slice, I can't convince him and I think I'm having a bad day because now I have to call the owner and tell her something different from what the written radiology report is going to say and I'm trying to figure out exactly how to phrase all of that so that she doesn't lose confidence in the whole process. Then the radiologist calls me back to say I'm right and he's wrong, completely, and his report is going to reflect that. Sweet, that made my day much easier.
Then I got a Fed Ex envelope, a nice fat gift card for a fancy day spa from a client who's dog has a supposedly fatal form of encephalitis but we have managed to keep alive and clinically normal for many years now.
Then the elderly dog who was attacked by a coyote and was thought to have spinal fracture shows up through the ER. I don't think there's any fracture and the dog is neurologically normal. Probably going to be ok with some good wound care.
There's still lots of things that could go wrong with my day- one more MRI to go and a surgery. But so far, so good.

nah, my first patient of the day was a 54y/o who probably has ALS, and my second was a guy who has an acute severe neuropathy. It was just a little too much severe pathology all at once.
Now to clean up some paperwork and go home, go for a quick ride, eat takeout Chinese and drink a beer in the hot tub.

I did my 3 hour ride and thought about how old I wanted to imagine myself to be. 20 sounded good but I was really stupid at 20. I settled for 35 which knocks 30 years off my age. That seems about right for me since that is how I visualize myself anyway. I am now going to do it with even more alacrity.

I'm really not that skinny, at least for a cyclist.
Don't they have laws in your state?
