Anyone Have Experience with the Campagnolo Zonda Wheelset
Looking for an inexpensive upgrade to the stock Fulcrum Racing 6's that came with my 2012 Specialized Roubaix Rival Elite and am considering the Zonda's, Fulcrum Racing Quattro and Fulcrum Racing 3. I am a larger rider (225 lbs) who's put on about 4,000 each of the past two years. Thanks for your perspectives.

I also am interested in the 3 wheels you mention, and weigh the same as you. Hopefully someone will respond. Those Zonda wheels look awesome.
Also am in interested in some Boyd alloy wheels.

I have both the Zondas and Fulcrum Racing 3. They are essentially the same wheel, but the Zondas are probably not available (out of the box) with a Shimano compatible hub, whereas the Fulcrums are. (The Zondas could be converted with a Fulcrum freehub body.) I haven't had any problems with either wheel set, but I'm a little bit lighter (185 lb) than you are.

Campy wheel owner here...180 lbs and no issues over the years. My view is 225 lbs is a bit of game changer. That said, you can probably ride any of the Campy wheels discussed without issue but 225 lbs is flirting with the high end. I think if I was that weight, I would consider 32 spoke wheels for daily riding and maybe have a set of race wheels with fewer spokes but I wouldn't ride a low spoke count wheel daily at that weight.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I weigh 210-215 depending on the week and I got the 24/28 set of Boyd Altamonts back in April. They came out of the box perfect, are WAY smoother over chip seal and rough roads than my stock wheels (I used 23mm GP4000s tires), and a lot lighter. I've hit some pot holes, one large enough to give me a pinch flat, I've sent them through airport security in a travel case with my bike (RD hanger got bent on the bike), and I've but couple thousand miles on them and they are still as true as the day I got them. I couldn't be happier.

Would Fulcrum Racing 5's be enough of an upgrade for you?

Thanks for the feedback. Is anyone aware of posted data regarding weight limits for any of the wheels (leaning toward the Zondas).

Campy suggest a 109 kg (240 lbs) weight limit for the Zonda.
I weigh around 220 lbs and have been using Zonda wheels for 3 years with no issues. In fact, they have held up a lot better than my 32-spoke hand-built wheels.
