Ha ha, I was starting to feel like J Alfred Prufrock over this new jacket decision.
"time yet for a hundred indecisions, for a hundred visions and revisions, before the taking of toast & tea"
Except there really wasn't time yet, so incapable of making a decision, I ordered three. I'll just pick one and return the other two.

I seek the advice of the Addiction brain trust.
I lack patience. According to Excel this morning, 56 Ultegra S5 will arrive around Christmas for a test ride. That's a long time away for a bike I might not like as much as the R3SL. Crash replacement is a solid discount, but MSRP is still spendy. And I have to give the R3SL to Cervelo.
If I get the closeout Ridley Noah, as mentioned before, I get to keep the R3SL and eventually fix it. SR EPS goes to the Noah, mechanical Record 11 goes from the Paketa to the fixed R3SL and that bike keeps its Enve bits (including that fancy fork that I'd have no use for).
Ridley has a lot of stack, but not as much as Cervelo. Slam it with the -6 Enve stem would work. Ride will be nice and stiff. Internal routing, integrated brakes, and fast enough for Greipel. What do you think? I know LAJ has ridden the hell out of his Ridley. This would be the one.

I have always thought that I like cycling because I have a bit of an OCD personality. There must be something like that in every keen cyclist. Once you are riding, you want to keep going; that is just what keeps OCD types hooked. Well, after seeing Heathpack and her full on hurling of herself from noob to competitive coached semi-pro cycling nutbaggery, I think I am right.

I've watched a lot of documentaries, I know how my food is sourced, I've hunted and prepared my own kills, I've gone on total nutritarian fasts...what is this documentary going to tell me that I might not know?
As far as taste goes, I disagree, it's the medium. Animal is unique, no plant substitute comes close. I have access to some of the finest tofu in the land, remarkable Asian markets by me in the Bronx as well as Queens, hell I love tofu but, tofu will never approach a well prepared animal. Frankly I get a blood lust at times.
I'm well aware of the feeling you're speaking of, going nutritarian has given me that experience, nevertheless I accomplish the same by ensuring I consume copious vegetables. nut proteins and fruits.

Btw the meat industry is grotesque. I stopped eating after watching and have not gone back.

Hey ya'll. Just dropped in to give the verdict in the court case.
They plea bargained it to a high court misdemeanor, equates to a felony, lying to a peace officer. She got 6 months jail. 2 years probation. Two of my club mates went to the hearing today for sentencing. She still didnt get it. She couldnt understand what the big deal was and even argued with the judge.
Ahhhhh yeahhh..... good times....

While on a club cycling trip, she took exception to our using "her" road. Buzzed us in her car, twice, people bailed into the ditch. When that didn't work, she went home and got her diesel monster truck, buzzed us 3 more times in that, while attempting to "coal" us, people bailed into the ditch again. She was screaming and yelling at us the entire time, like we had wronged her some how. We called the cops, pressed charges, showed up for court. She was originally charged with 4 counts of felonious assault with a motor vehicle. She took the offered deal of lying to a peace officer. Sentencing was today. My buddy said when the judge said jail, the bailiff came over to her and began cuffing her she looked like she still didn't get it, she just couldn't understand wtf was going on. Jail....jail? ....JAIL????
She does have a past history with law enforcement. I thought it was funny but the judge took away her weed card too. lol.

Gwen Stefani just did a bit of a cover of this on "The Voice". She's pretty awesome, but mostly just reminded me how cool the original is.

Sort of, stems from a saddle sore that was there when I was getting ready from CX last season. I landed on it during a less than ideal remount and caused some sort of hematoma which seems to have interfered with it healing like a normal saddle sore. We (me with discussion with my doctor) left it alone so I could train / race last season and hoping maybe it would resolve. It did not, and became a big bunch of stuff that had to go.
Glad it's done.

Miguel is gone. RIP. Apparently he had been busy and was a building out quite a spread in my ass.
I did learn that having a resting HR in the mid 30's causes much consternation and need for explanation at the hospital. The low HR alarm was set to go off at a considerably higher level. Also learned that I was quite a bit older than the chief surgeon and the anesthesiolist. The surgeon was a U of I grad and a Bears fan and the anesthesiologist a bit of a Deadhead (he gave me some awesome stuff to enjoy before going under.. damn that was good).
Surgeon was also a triathlete and estimates 2-3 weeks off the bike... I'm good with that, even though I am already ****zing about my off season weight gain.

I briefly discussed having a farewell photo of Miguel taken with the surgery team (right after getting hit with whatever magical stuff was in the first injection), but they talked me out of it.
Pretty good of them, given they all seemed to be about 21. #getoffmylawn
