GoldenCheetah is free and lets you data-mine pretty good, right?

After I deleted Sunday's ride from the 510, it was able to complete the sync again.
Today's ride sync'd without problems.

I haven't been able to sync my 510 to Strava in over 6 months. I just upload the file manually after every ride. I tried loading and re-loading GC from the garmin site to no avail.

Edge 1000 user here. I haven't had any issues. There was one day they took garmin Connect down for maintenance a while back, but they mentioned that upfront on the site. I did a ride yesterday and uploaded it immediately after the ride.

for the record, I followed the instructions in the link I posted. Reformatted my 510 on a windows computer and updated firmware. Road today and it saved my ride and synced up with no problems. Of course I had no problems for the first couple of months I owned it until Sunday so I'm not ready to say its' fixed. Does seem like a lot of people had issues on Sunday so maybe it was the Garmin servers and my experience might have been something different

OK, I would someday like to get a device that has maps and I see all these issues with Garmin, is there a device that has maps without all these issues?

Magellan/Mio is trying to break into the market...but their devices have a whole load of caveats and other annoyances.

Does Garmin Connect provide estimated power numbers like Strava does?
I've noticed that if I go to Activities and export my activities, it shows me some data I hadn't seen before like total strokes.
I'm wondering if estimated power is hidden in there somewhere.

Estimated power numbers aren't worth the pixels they take up. If you don't have a PM, focus on PE and buy a HR strap.

I havent been able to sync my iphone with my 510 for the better part of 6 months. I gave up on having it all sync, but I (my s/o) miss the livetrack for the longer rides.
