Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Neugent wheels?

Has anyone tried the alloy clinchers from Neugent Cycling? A 23mm wide rim, nice Sapim CX Ray or Laser spokes and nipple washers (!) A generic hub, but it seems lots of people use generics. I'm aware of the Neuvation connection, don't need opinions about those. thanks

Wut.

I know nothing about his politics but does it matter?

BTW Neuvation wheels generally good value for budget minded types, but I know zipp (pun intended) about the new venture.

Their generic hub has a fairly extreme drive side/non drive side offset ratio, even for 11 speed. I am guessing that is why they tension the DS to 180, it would be the only way to keep the NDS spokes from being noodles.

Maybe it works fine, but it seems to me the typical Novatec and Bitex import hubs that their competitors use would be a better choice.

That's a good cover, but if a "joke" needs to be explained it usually means it isn't very good.

Wow this went off topic quick...

I'd imagine the Neugent wheels are pretty good. I'v been running Neuvations for years with no troubles.

Yeah. Some people get upset with the mention of firearms, so "they" censor it.

You can't even post the name of one of the streets near me. Sweetwater

I guess you can now.

To get back on track, those used Novatec hubs. What they have now is unlike any novatec I've ever seen.

John explains this on his website, but as a general rule I wouldn't ride 24 spoke rear wheels if I were a Clyde.
