Way to turn it around. I'm impressed.

Very awesome. I'm saving this for my friend who had one lung removed last year. She's recovering, but it's slow.
(You have the same Rapha bike shorts that I have. Or should that be the other way around.)

Reminded me of one of my favorite sayings - "Life ain't no dress rehearsal"

Congratulations! Your story truly is inspirational. I'm going to guess you're biggest challenge going forward will be to find goals for which you can continue to strive. Century - I'm sure that will be in the bag before long. Maybe a Double Century, or maybe RAAM; the sky's the limit for you.

What a fantastic story, congratulations to you and those around who may have helped and supported your efforts. I know how I feel after a long climb and can only imagine how you must have had to deal with the challenge of riding with one lung (and who knows maybe ongoing, I have no basis for knowledge).
I especially liked how you described your turning point, perhaps it's similar to other problems/addictions where you need a trigger of sorts to decide that it's time to deal. For me it was my doctor asking me if I wanted to stay on cholesterol medicine all my life and simply deciding I wasn't. My wife I feel is struggling to hit her bottom point, having tried a number of ways to lose weight but perhaps the impetus just hasn't been there for her yet.
Truly inspirational, thanks for posting!

Fantastic
I like the part where you said..... I want to get trimmer and stronger for no other reason than I want to do it for me.
When people ask me why do I run, bike, workout I'm going to tell them.
I want to get trimmer and stronger for no other reason than I want to do it for me. If you don't mind that I use your line.
