11/28 weekend: riding in Chattanooga TN and Robinsville NC

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

11/28 weekend: riding in Chattanooga TN and Robinsville NC

Hello guys,

This is a last minute lookout for a riding partner around chattanooga tn for tomorrow saturday and another one for sunday at robinsville nc. I'd love to do the chattanooga group rides but it's too late in the day and need to spend time with the wife during the day.

Ideally i'd like to ride at around 8-9am both days arounf 20 miles. It would be nice to go up rock city in TN and do the dragons tail sunday in NC. Obviously I am flexible to do whatever the riding buddy suggests as well.

Feel free to reply or send me a pm. I'm just looking for somebody to ride with since i barely know the roads. Doesnt matter 15mph average or 20. Just for fun.

I can't help you on the rides as I don't live anywhere near there.

But, are you riding your bicycle down the dragon trail? I drove that last year and would be very hesitant to ride it on a bike. Is that a normal thing that people ride?

I'Ve done it on the motorcycle a few times and it would be scary during summer time. Now it's gonna be 38 degrees or so so there probably wont be too much of the street racing scene. I may be wrong but there are other nice roads around too. Lets see if anybody else chimes in.

Sorry to see this so late... I can't help because I'll be in NY over the weekend. Call East Ridge Bike shop and ask for Garth. He can direct you to any group rides in CHA.

You'll be fine on the dragon early in the morning. I've done it several times and cyclist are becoming more of the norm early in the day.
