Guys - please be careful on the trainer (NSFW link - blood, no gore)
Removing Blood Stains (Somewhat Graphic): Triathlon Forum: Slowtwitch Forums
The OP hasn't fully explained what happened but here are the cliffs:
The OP hasn't fully explained what happened but here are the cliffs:
- OP had an "accident" on the trainer and had to constantly apply pressure to the wound
- OP takes off shoes and walks with socks inside to get his insurance card in the kitchen
- OP's dog licks up some blood
- OP goes back into house to lock up dog
- OP goes outside and waits on porch for EMS

tsk-tsk... all these no-handed, one-leg pedaling, playing Guitar-Hero rollers videos, I knew it was only a matter of time before one of these jokers juggled live grenades while riding them.
It's all fun & games until someone loses an eye. (Then it's freakin hilarious.)
(Texas Chainring Massacre... hee hee...)

Seeing as the guys thinks that he may have a lawsuit on his hands, I don't think that it's a simple matter of being careful. Sounds like a broken seat post and impalement.

Hopefully he heals quickly. Maybe his seat post broke and his foot slipped off the pedal because he was in socks?
One time I cam home all bloodied and my dog has a field day on my legs......for about 5 seconds LOL.

His bloodied shoes are in one of the pics - he wasn't using clipless pedals on his trainer while wearing only socks.

We bleed like stuck pigs when our heart rates are north of 170.
I got up after a crit crash, and finished the race with a blood-saturated sock, and just a little tiny scratch on my shin.

Yeah I clicked the link and clicked out pretty quick lol. So I did not see that pic. I also didnt see the "OP takes off shoes" in the op of this thread. What ever happened, that stinks. But, being active he should heal up pretty good. (relative to the inactive population)

The most disturbing comment was from the failure who said he couldn't stop laughing uncontrollably at those graphic sights.. there are some people you just pray you never ever come close enough to each other to share oxygen with..... ever.

Some people do not understand how much blood is in the human body. And when they see pictures of something like this they just laugh because they don't think it could be real.

Indeed!
Still wondering exactly what happened!!
A little background would be nice.
I laughed too, only cuz I get delirious around a lot of blood. That looks like a murder scene!! (And obviously, it sounds like OP is ok).
Still......

I just cannot even believe how anyone could react with laughter without being 100% sure this is the result of boredom and leftover halloween junk. If this is a joke, it's not in the least bit funny. That or my sense of humor is just missing this dept. Alot of gunshot and stab wounds don't produce that much blood, and yet alot do much more soooo...

Clicked through, couldn't find the NSFW stuff. You guys have overly squeamish IT departments or what?

If the seat post did break and stab him, the person would most likely of had their whole body weight being held, for a quick second, by the seat post and then they jerked away, causing even more trauma.
Our legs have the big femoral arteries and veins that supply our big lower body. When you exercise blood is sent to the active tissues (the pump your legs get), which means his blood vessels were full of blood when this happened. The initial stab (again assuming it was the seat post) broke the vessels and when it was removed (I am guessing it was removed) allowed blood to flow freely out of the wound. The seat post is so thick that it was an easy exit point. And I am guessing since it was a cyclist the person was thinner, giving easier access to the blood vessels.
