Strava Hard Reboot
What would be the out come if all segments went to zero, zip zilch (0)? all QOM/KOM's gone- totally ground zero. Would it hurt you? Would you care? I would miss my accumulations ease of access on the internet.

It would pretty much spell the end of Cat 6 for me unless I rode around looking for chaps on dual suspension mountain bikes with knobbies (or more likely penny-farthings or unicycles just to be sure I could catch them) and then sneak up and go blowing past. Why I'd have to compete against people in person! That's right - on the same course on the same day! And no longer could I seek out segments that have the biggest tailwinds possible and get credit for 75 watts more than I actually produced.
At least I'd still have my trusty speedometer and I could always add another magnet to the front wheel to inflate my numbers.

I want a listing on Strava where DFL is first and all the speedy losers are further down the list. There is one nearby segment where we took over an hour and the fastest time is 20 minutes. Those people aren't getting their money's worth

Dude, I needed to upgrade my old I-phone 4 as the Strava App was not functioning properly. I got the New Droid Turbo which is a great 10lbs oversized phone but the App is still a mess......I may be done wioth Strava until I get me a Garmin.

You can try downloading the mapmyride app.
Record your workout with mapmyride, go to the link below, fetch your GPX file and import it into Strava.

I'd be exactly where I am now. I never bothered recording any data, so have none to lose.

I went to a premium membership this year thanks to a promo (got a Competitive Cyclist credit for the same amount as the strava cost) and that lets you do a lot more filtering/sorting on segments: by age group, weight range, groups, following, etc. It's actually kind of cool to look at once in a while to gauge myself against people I care about since it's too late in my life to ever catch up with the 28 y.o. Cat 2 racers doing the same routes.
There's also a compare option that you can pick a couple of riders and compare yourself across a full segment. For example, there's a half mile hill near me that I go all out on once in a while and am quite happy with my time. But by using the compare option with a couple riders that are 15-20 seconds faster than me I can see that I am equal or even a little ahead of them in the first quarter mile but then they pull away (or I drop off) in the second quarter. Lets me know I need to work harder in the second half but perhaps also go a tick slower in the first half to avoid a drop off on my part at the end. Kind of a cool way to look at the data and figure out how & where to improve instead of simply "must go faster!!!!".
But, I doubt I'll pay the money for premium membership next year unless there is another similar offer.

I don't have a GPS capable computer and I use a Windows phone, so I don't think I can even use Strava.

I used to crew with a skipper who always pronounced the downwind side of the boat the loo ward side. I guess that's why.
