Almost hit!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Almost hit!

So I was riding down a two lane back road. (1 lane each direction). So I was going about 20mph on my bike on the shoulder of the road. I saw a small truck in the opposite lane driving perfectly normal when all the sudden his tire blew out and he swerved right toward me, he missed me by about 2 or 3 feet and hit the lightpole. I got off my bike to make sure the driver was ok. He was very apologetic. He stated he was also a cyclist and now he would be riding a hell of a lot more!

The best part about almost getting hit is definitely the - almost - bit.

Glad you and fellow cyclist driver are both ok.

Keep rolling.

A few seconds on either side can make all the difference. Today was your lucky day.

Holy smoke! Life is like that; stuff happens in an instant. I'm glad you and the truck driver are OK. You have something to be thankful for over the holidays.
