Bar tape color
Thinking of putting this color
on this
Any thought? A bit too color happy? I think it might look really good.

Go for it, if you decide to change it, its cheap enough to do.
Not like it's a huge investment.

It won't look super hot, but it should look fine. Really the only color in it is red, and the mix of black and white just mean the general appearance is less saturated and will camouflage grime somewhat - altogether more reasonable that it appears up close and in isolation.

First, the disclaimer: If you choose to go that route, it's not really hurting anyone and it is easy enough to change if you decide you don't like it.
Having said that, the last time I used splash tape was over 10 years ago. I put some black and yellow splash tape on a Litespeed with yellow decals. I am originally from Pittsburgh, so I have a natural affinity for black and yellow. However, I wished the local bike shop had staged an intervention before allowing me to buy it. It looked so 90's. In the case of your bike, I think it will make for a very unbalanced look by making the front end look too busy compared to the rest of the bike. I think solid white would be a better choice... but that's just my opinion.

SPECIALIZED bikes can only have SPECIALIZED tape its in the rules
I think ur tape choice is fine.
Nice bike BTW.
U couldnt go wrong with solid red or white either.
Whites so hard to keep clean.

FYI, you can upsize photos to several different levels by double clicking on it after it is downloaded. An photo-editing window opens. If it doesn't work for you at first, just post the reply or OP, then edit it. Again double click on the photo to size it.

I put this post on here during a monster energy drink fueled caffeine high last night, and the more I look at that splash bar tape I can't believe I actually thought it was a good idea I think I will stick to solid colors

But the 2015 model comes in orange so maybe the tide is turning.
I'll be replacing the white bartape on my mostly white Domane with red. My old bike was in the team Euskadie-Euskaltel colors.
OP, if you have the patience, do a harlequin pattern of red and white tape on your bars.

Nothing wrong with a little 90's splash tape. At least others will notice it, unlike solid colors. I've thought about getting white/black splash for my Focus.

Yeah, the 2014 Domane 5 series was either white/black or all black.
But the 2015 model comes in orange so maybe the tide is turning.

The silver came out looking nice. I usually match the seat color, to each his own. Your choice works. I need to check out the new BMC dealer here in town, as your bike looks sharp.

Isn't there something between solid colors and the chunky splash look or a harlequin weave? Bars will never be as smooth as the frame, and because of their texture, they will never truly match anything else on the bike. OK, so splash tape may be offensive, but if there was something less chunky looking, more grainy looking maybe, wouldn't that be ideal? Maybe I'll design some and suggest them to Deda....

Akkkk, my eyes. Looks like candy cane, appropriate for this time of year.
I do like the colored threaded tapes, or a fine line of color such as the following.
