Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So I looked up the difference between disk and disc, and at least in the computer world, disc refers to optical media (CD, DVD, etc) while disk refers to magnetic (floppy disk, hard disk).

Not clear which is better for brakes on bicycles.

I don't think there is a right answer.

Had a great first ride of the year today. 55 fast miles with a fun bunch. Didn't see the zebra or the camel as we pass the "farm", just a few ostriches. Think they slept in. Heard they were partying like a bunch of animals. Shared some champagne and a few shots of fireball at the end of the ride. Fun day.
Back when my love life was in shambles and I was posting about it all the time we'd do ten pages a day.

Hey "Queen for the Day". I keep my phone in a ziplock and don't like stopping the ride for pics unless I'm riding solo. I'll see if I can come up with some entertaining pics sometime soon.

I use disc for bicycle brakes. Disk and diskette only belong in the computer world, not frisbees, or bicycles, or motorcycles or UFOs.

Me too.

I figure around April I'll dust her off & pump up the tires. Maybe late March if things fall right..

.
...so I'm over at the bike co-op just now, and the landlord of our building has the space next door (which is the residential portion of the same building) fixed up as one of those Air B+B type places, but you're on your own for breakfast. It's huge, so he gets a lot of party/group rentals for weddings and stuff. AS I'm leaving, three people come out and explain to me that they have a piece of bread which is the "stranger's portion", and old Greek New Year tradition, and they give it to the first person they meet outside the door, me.

It seemed pretty appropriate. No one is stranger than I am.

Funny how riding in cold weather makes the ride feel longer. I just did nearly 3 hours but it felt like more.
