This is one of the reasons that I'm currently saving shekels for the Sony A7II - full frame with in-body stabilization. Being able to use all of that old glass with IS is going to be killer. Hell, with the current prices on some of older (but good) teles, I may finally pick one up again.

I think this stupid friggin wound that's been KILLING me for months on my inner right foot is finally healed over. Pain levels down 80%. Off pain meds since Monday. All because of this wound healing product I got from a different wound treatment center up here @ OC Regional Med Center. I was frustrated with the lack of healing. And happily, OC Regional delivered, they said 'oh no, don't use THAT stuff, we use THIS stuff, it's 10x better'. And so it was (wound dressing product). Amazing. My vascular surgeon says it's completely healed over. Still hurts, but pain levels continue to drop. Back on the bicycle tomorrow.
The vascular surgery does appear to have worked (no new wounds, leg looks/feels better), this one wound had just been unhealed for so long, and those can persist even after corrective vascular surgery. Once I get back on the bike, lose 20 lbs and lower my blood pressure, my longer term prognosis should be better still. Sure riding in sub 20ºF weather sucks. The alternative is far worse.
Time to ride.

Moral of the story, Promogran Prisma was not all it's cracked up to be for me, and I spent a fortune on it during those 6 months.

I think that, when most people complain about new houses, they're typically complaining about any one out of a handful of things. The churn-'em-out, builder-grade houses do suck, and lack character. Slightly more upscale build-outs are considerably better. Another one, and this is a big one for me, is that new(er) houses are often associated with those suburban clusters that pop up overnight, along a once-barren stretch of road. I think that those neighborhoods, more so than the houses in them, are awful - they're often intentionally difficult to navigate (streets that are anything but straight, bottle-necks in to and out of neighborhood), they're often built with only one mode of transportation in mind (automobile) and the builders seem to recycle a small handful of house plans over a development with dozens (or even hundreds) of units. It all lends itself to a very... enclave-ish feeling to me.
To me, the undisputed king of houses is a renovated old house. Something that retains character/details from the initial construction, but with new mechanicals and a slightly altered floorplan to accommodate living in the here and now.

I wouldn't trust a "renovated" old house any more than I'd trust a "renovated" Mustang Mach1 as a daily driver. There's always something about to break, and when you fix it... congratulations, you have an old house.
