Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is the ride I just finished building up this spring. It's a budget build, but I'm still happy to have it. Rides well too!
Not a great background, unfortunately.

Last switchback before Artist Point on Mt. Baker, taken this past Friday during the Northwest Tandem Rally. Three other tandems did the ride with us. Possibly the most spectacular climb in the PNW. Mt. Shuksan in the background.

I do ... several of them ... but when we travel, we bring our folding bicycles.

And most of the photos here were taken when we travel. It's a bit difficult to do shots like those in the area where we live because we're either slogging up steep hills or flying down. No nice flat ground to work with.

Not me of course, but my 10 year old. I'd get him to take one of me, but panning photography is a bit above his head..
