Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Haven't heard anything. I'd love if it were a 5800 clone but in 10 speed. Nicer front shifting and the clean cable routing...but able to use older wheels. They'd sell a lot of Tiagra groupsets that way, but a lot less 5800 and new wheels.

Merlin is selling 5800 for $340 right now (which is $5 more then their price for 4600). Who cares about Tiagra at that price?

That's a great deal, and a good groupset....but there are many of us who want to stick with 10 speed for awhile longer.

I am happy with this. Get the Rear Derailleur and a 34 tooth cassette and I'll be in heaven climbing all day every day.

Yeah - I think this is a nice development. Use your 10 speed wheels on that back-up/rain bike, but still get more refined STI's with under tape cabling. Plus the overhauled front shifting trickles down. The levers are modeled after 5800/6800/9000 - essentially Tiagra skipped ever being modeled after 5700/6700/7900 (good call!). While not really for me, the 34t is a nice touch as are the triples. I'd love to see a 12-28 cassette. Here are some other links:

I hope the 4700 pricing is similar in a year. That would be a serious value.

You would think it would be since 6800 and 5800 are both less expensive then their predecessors.
