Shoes, shoes, and more shoes
Well my search for new shoes is almost complete, I think. I have been frantically searching to replace my 7-8 year old Specialized Sworks. So far I have tried Bont Vaypor Zero (arch support felt weird), new model Sworks (same size as old ones but way too narrow), Pearl Izumi Pro Leader II (way too tight). Tried on some Giro Pro light SLX II and Sidi Wires and like them both. It's hard to tell from a test fit how they are going to be long term. Any users here care to shed some light on the two, or add another shoe to try that may have a similar fit?

I have these in silver and they are awesome. Light, stiff, and the laces even distribute pressure on the foot. Only downside is you can't really adjust them on the fly if you're one of those people who like to do that. Not sure if they come in silver anymore -

They still come in silver but the green is switched to black.

I like both the Sworks and Wires. Wires can be brought for around $350 for 2014 model. Ive got the Sworks and they are extremely comfortable.

Sworks boa are really comfortable and the boa adjust is so great for on the fly adjustments.

did you get rid of your Bonts or do you still have them?

Garneau Ergo Air. Reasonably priced. 3 years with no problems. Roomy in the toe area, which is a must for me.

I ride with a pair of pearl izumi sneakers with recessed spd cleats on the high end road spd pedals. I commute and generally like to walk normally. There's no reason to change shoes / platform is there? I'm not going to get any faster / more efficient by doing that? They're comfortable and even on 3 hour rides I don't feel hotspots or anything. I've read a fair bit and the verdict seems to be there's nothing to be gained by changing. What do y'all think? .

After coming to the conclusion that I need a wide shoe I've narrowed it down to two, Bont Vaypor+ or Lake CX331. Any opinions?
