Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I fancy myself a buongustaio and bonvivant, which dovetail nicely with my business as a wine importer and wholesale distributor.

I'm an auto mechanic (not a "technician" I don't like that politically correct term ) In addition to regular cars we do a lot if old sports car repair and restoration. Some of my customers are surprised that a car mechanic rides a bike to work several days a week. This is our website if you care to see. sportscarguys.com

I am, as you may have guessed, a scientist, specifically a bioanalytical chemist. The results of the poll are interesting because I have noticed that around here, there are a disproportionate number of cyclists who are in STEM fields. I had to laugh recently when I met some people who work at the same university as my husband. He teaches English. One of the people asked if he rode (he doesn't), and another one said, "he's an English professor; of course he doesn't ride."

Office based worker/support in O&G company, just recently ventured into the management ranks.

Office works sucks, the flexibility to have a ride out just isn't there....

uh, are you supposed to have a job?? I thought riding my bikes was the best job you could have. I know it doesn't pay very well but you get lots of fresh air, free water at most stops, free food samples at the local deli's, free coffee when they are sampling new brews, lots of great exercise, free showers if you ride in the rain (free bike wash too!), if you ride in the country you can find lots of empty cans in the ditch to recycle for cash (20 cans weigh about a pound = 45 cents), it just goes on and on..........really I work in marketing at an electrical contractor's office.

Mechanical engineer for a food processing equipment manufacturer. I saw some people riding by my office window today, it made me sad that I can't take an hour in the middle of the day like that!

My office in my last government job overlooked the river and the bike trail. I'm a cyclist, runner and boater and I had constant envy of everyone outside doing the things I wanted to do.
