Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Um, no. Why do you take off your jersey to pee? Is your penis in a different place than everyone else's?

Great prices, but no black shorts (not bibs). That sucks. Also no smaller sizes in the standard shorts. Oh well, I will keep checking the site. Something might turn up that would allow me to find out for a reasonable price what all the hoopla is about. You can't say I am not open minded.

If you're going with shorts instead of bibs, you're only going to get half of the hoopla, not the full hoopla.

Mine were, to me, American sized.
I got my Unos in XL, which is the same as all the other bibs I've worn.
I think you'd be pleased.

I'm game to find out, but I can't find any Ms on the page. Even bibs.

Maybe there's something wrong with me, but the Assos bib tights I tried were among the most UNcomfortable things I've ever worn. No thanks.

Why don't you e-mail them and ask if they will be re-stocking in your size?

I didn't think outlets worked that way, but it is worth a try. Thanks. Actually I wonder if they ever close out Ms, or they just sell out at regular price.

For that price, they ought to come with both a zipper and a trap door in the rear!

No. Just tried them on. Maybe that's what's wrong with me.
I got to thinking they may be like motorcycle leathers - feel awful to stand around in, but great to ride in.
But that's OK, I'm happy thinking I don't want them based on some knowledge, and am content with Sportful, Giordana, Cannondale, Biemme, etc.

Assos is VERY specific about how their bibs are constructed and the bibs are designed for the riding position.

From the manual:

"ASSOS shorts are tailored for the riding-position. It is therefore normal that the bibs pull on the shoulders when standing upright. If this is not the case, use a smaller size."

I've used lots of shorts and most are perfectly fine. A few years back I got a pair of Assos for under $150 from the factory store and still have them and enjoy them. They're not magic but certainly have a great feel and work well for long days in the saddle. The thing I always like about their stuff is it fits so well especially the chamois.

Cute. I actually take my jersey off because the bibs have shoulder straps...if you read my original post completely, you also noted that I wear a crossbreed belly band holster, that means I have to take the jersey off, remove the belly band and then pull down the should straps... i can not just pull down the front off my bibs...
and yes that means I do concealed carry when I ride.

Have you considered wearing the holster UNDER your bibs?

Still trying to maintain an aura of fairness (which doesn't always happen, right), let me comment that there is a much broader range of sizes available for JERSEYS on the Assos Outlet site. And some excellent prices. I'm tempted to make a purchase.
