Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That works for me too. Just sayin' if you were disposed to try something...

Meanwhile, I had to take the Element in for a new slave and master cylinder for my clutch so today it was scooter day. Was going fine until the rain hit me just two miles from work. Then, on the way home, I avoided the rain until, you guessed it, two miles from home.

I once saved everything on the hard drive of my PowerMac 7100/66 onto the Zip drive, then wiped the hard drive. (stepdaughter had done something to fubar the drive). I replaced the HD with a new 500 meg drive, then rebooted. The computer automatically booted off the Zip drive since it held a copy of the OS and I was able to transfer everything back to the hard drive.

On my Classic, I had System 6.0.8 down to less than a meg by deleting everything I didn't need in it.

IIRC, it wasn't until Word 3.0 that you couldn't save the entire program on one 1.4meg floppy.

Meanwhile,

Interesting, probably would have come more in handy for me back in the east coast. Minneapolis/St Paul is uniquely isolated, though - Madison, WI is probably the closest metro area with a population exceeding 100K, and they're more than 250 miles away. I've got feeds to cover them, just in case, but it would take some exceptional deals to justify going out there, let alone further.

I wonder if I should try it in order to find a cheap powertap rear wheel. But trust and shipping issues are a big barrier.

just want to say sorry to all my fans for my lack of effort so far. I've been a bit busy the last couple of weeks with some visitors and rather a hefty work load while they are here. They leave tonight so I will be back. Thank you for your patience. I love all my fans. You mean so much to me.

Oh...sorry, that was my Oscar awards speech.
