Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A. Well, things do start to quiet down in late summer. September and January are the quietest months IMO.

B. Too bad. But worth a shot, I guess.

You will get a lighter product from BHS. Otherwise everything is pretty much the same. Though you can get the 1:2 drilling from BHS too. I really value that with flange spacing that are very uneven on the rear hub. Been using alloy nipples for decades. Only one or two problems over all that time: corroded nipples that cracked and had to be replaced. Not an issue when you do your own wheel work.

They are only more desirable if you desire that sort of thing more. Besides what other standpoint is there besides weight?

Not to mention watering the lawn and gardens and all . . . . which took a lot of convincing in the beginning for me to buy into, believe me.

Well actually I had little choice but to buy in, or face constant harassment from the determined little lady. #iknowmyplace #chooseyourbattles

Yep. Better to let the air flow through the helmet than create a high-pressure system in front of it. The point of the aero helmet is to make the BACK of the helmet aero (with the tail) rather than the front. Wind-tunnel tested, several times, by Specialized and others.

They don't miss often, but every once in a while I guess they gotta come up empty.

Do you think they have "bubble gum" cards with a record of their batting averages on the back?

We're talking about nature being quiet, right?

The other funny thing about that video is that she apparently rode all afternoon to get to the lake, at sunset, then says, "gotta get back home before dark."

As a frequent dusk-time rider, I'd say she's a bit late for that.

...where exactly is the crack ? Is it one of those fatigue things at the nipple hole ?

Well I am very influenced by the up and down patterns of the veterinary business. Truthfully, we have little dips in business in September (kids back to school, too much going on) and in Jan/Feb (post Christmas plus people starting to worry about paying income taxes). I guess everyone just figured out they're getting a refund, though, because March business is booming.

...now that @LesterOfPuppets and @Ramona_W have entered into the third year of their relationship,
I think they ought to get a power couple name, like Lesmona_W or maybe Ramaster of Puppets.
