Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks everyone

This year apparently I am only supposed to get a cupcake, at least that's what my 5 yo says I should get (That's what he got on his last birthday).

Happy Birthday!

You're a "cyclist", and you really should only get half a cupcake.

Tell her one of the knuckleheads from BF suggested you name your two favorite chickens Sam and Ella.

It's a balmy 24F out. Time to get ready to ride. I am hoping my water bottles don't freeze. Now where did I put that fancy insulated bottle I bought and put away for next winter?!?

Hey folks, if you have a minute, please look at my recent thread asking if my Giant frame is salable. I would appreciate your input. Even the snarky stuff.

That's when I change over to super early AM rides. If the sun's not up, it keeps below 100F.

On week days in Houston I feel I need to let rush hour get done, so I usually don't start a ride before 9:00 AM. That is about as late as I would want to start during the Gulf Coast summer.

...is it within the warranty period ? Can't you just swap it for a new one under the warranty and sell that ?

Bought lightly used, no warranty. But that's fair enough. I got it for 1/3 the MSRP in 2009. It has served me well.

The high school I went to didn't even have a pool. I did not miss not having one.

Funny, I hate everything about it except that one aspect.

Actually, it's not.

While swimmers compete as individuals, at all levels, Age Group, High School and College, swimmers score points for Team Honors.

Yes, but I think he means (I know I do) that you are all alone in the pool. Sure there are the other participants in there with you, it isn't a time trial. But you are not swimming along with anyone from your team. And even if you were, there wouldn't be any communication. No peloton or paceline pulling you along. No one leading you out on a sprint.

Just finished a fantastic 50 mile club ride. Five riders. We even had a guest rider who is a collegiate racer from RPI who is home for spring break.

For some reason, the strava app on my iPhone is not working (when I load it, it kicks me right off), so I can't prove it. You will have to take my word for it.
