Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of which, anyone seen Corner Gas, the Movie?

Somehow I don't think it's gonna hit the Redbox, might have to put some work in to find it.

I've seen that ride. As in every time I ride my home territory.

What is to stop you from applying the same workout to the road? I only use the trainer if I can't get outside, either too early or too late in the day was my main reason to hit the trainer when I was in season.

1. Personal safety. This ride started at 4:30 am, the sun did not come up until the end of the ride.
2. Logistics. I have exactly two hours to get this workout done before I leave for work. On the road, I'd have to ride to/from the exact perfect stretch of road, the workout would take more than 2 hours.
3. Hypoxia. Some of the intervals are designed to make me hypoxic. Its a little safer for me to do them in the absence of hazardous things like pick-up trucks whizzing by at 60 mph.

4 days after getting my wisdom teeth removed I had my first real ride. It really sucks holding back while riding, I wish I could just power up the hills. If I push too hard I taste the blood seeping from the back of my mouth.

What can I complain about, at least I am on my spring break.

Something else kinda funny, I broke my Galaxy S5 last week so as I go to pre-order the new S6 AT&T has a free tablet promotion with upgrading. So today's ride and for the weeks to follow I carry this giant tablet in my back pocket. It has gps and data so I am happy.

You might start to like it, then when that tiny phone comes in the mail you're gonna be kicking yourself for not getting a Note

My google search said that Hypoxia can be very dangerous. Is it safer in small intervals ?

Wait a minute....

I thought your GPS data showed you going 120 to 140 mph.

I remember during flight training going into the low pressure chamber. What a weird feeling hypoxia is.

The Note 4 was a serious option for me, but at 5.7 inch it was more like a tablet. Using a pen to control it makes it seem like an old person thing. My ideal sized screen is more like 5.3 inch with minimal bezel, the closest thing to that was the LG G3 at 5.5 inch. But with the back and home buttons as part of the screen it was a huge turn off. Also it being part of last years releases, I turned away quickly. With the build quality of the 6 it really attracted my attention. It being thinner than the new iphone was also a plus, but that only means a smaller battery.

It seems like the galaxy S6 was so close to being something on a completely different level. They could of used the same dimensions but fitted it with a 5.3 inch screen. Put in a 3200 mah battery and make it something like 8mm thickness and not crazy thin, as it is 6.8mm now. A 20 mega pixel and 240 fps capability camera would of definitely stepped up the game. Also how hard is it to put a slot for micro Sd slot on the side, like the sim card?
I still think it is going to be an amazing phone, but I think they are just holding back too much.

Note works just fine with fingers only. You can feel free to lose the pen at any time and still have a perfectly usable phone.

I still need more time with a Note to see if I want one, but I still have plenty of time for that, as I'm gonna be carrying my S4 around for at least another year.

So, I think I prefer riding my aluminum TCR to my S-Works Tarmac.

I feel bad about this, but I almost want to sell the Tarmac.

I wonder why Kent didn't label the captain's spot. They marked the copilot.
