cleaver use of my large belly.....
If I stand while. Climbing so as to use my winter girth. Will the added weight on my pedals during the down stroke allow me to climb like a goat. Nwnj is a mess..

Standing to climb is, for me, a given. But I do not go faster uphill carrying a heavy backpack! And unloading my paniers and putting it into my backpack doesn't help either.

oh nooooo, you're not going to get off with a simple apology for an egregious spelling error. that would be like trading a knight for pawn.
i think a pic is in order...
maybe you are conflating (courtesy of Brian Williams ) memories of Beaver Cleaver and Larry (of the big belly) Mondello.

If you could use the force generated by your mass without having to carry it up the hill, that would be valuable. And if you didn't have to raise the other side of your body with the leg that was pushing down, that would also make good use of your bulk to get up the hill. Alas neither of these is possible.

The good news is: With the added weight, you WILL be faster going down the hills.....
Climbing? I don't know- Ilost 55 lbs since I started riding, and the hills aren't much easier- I often still struggle.

Yes, the extra weight on the pedals will negate the strain of hauling your fat ass up that hill. The extra weight will make you climb like Contador. In fact, I'm currently working on gaining as much as possible, so I can join the pro peloton. Strict diet of doughnuts and ice cream.
