Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bike clothing brand Sportful

Hello,

Does anyone have experience with the brand Sportful (Website Sportful | Sportful Splash Screen Not that it matters, but is the brand team Tinkoff Saxo uses. I have yet to find a brand I like/fits well/well made (besides one jersey made by Louis Garneau).

Thank you,

Juan

They are the sister brand of Castelli. Nice stuff and at what I reckon is the sweet spot for price v quality.

I have several Sportful jerseys, as well as arm and leg warmers. The Sportful No-Rain armwarmers are the best I've ever owned.

Count me as a fan too, at least of their long-sleeve pista jersey. Might be my favorite lightweight, long sleeved jersey. I'll buy more of their stuff.

their sizing is on the small size, I have to size up, normally a medium but I am a large in Sportful and Castelli

I've got a number of Sportful items. IMHO, the quality is very good, decent durability and great value.

It's one of those brands where, if you find your size in a style you like on sale, you should grab it. Good quality, fit and style, but not always competitively priced.

I have two Sportful jerseys. One is made in Italy and one in Croatia. The stitching around the neck on the Croatian made one pulls out every time I try to get out of the jersey. I have repaired it five times. I have never had a problem with the Italian made one (or any other jersey I have ever owned). I don't know what the difference between to two is; they look identical.

I've got one of their softshell jackets, at 6' even 200lbs, the XL fits me like a glove (or a sausage, your choice).
Excellent quality stuff.

I've never has this brand before, but I ordered the Ascent jacket and Gruppetto winter bibs on sale at CC for $85 each. Couldn't pass on that price. Most of my other gear is Castelli and the jacket I wanted was well over $200. Looks like quality stuff, should be good for my coldest rides.

I have two jerseys... got 'em in Chianti when I was riding around there over the summer. I'd say the fit is much more generous than Castelli, as in, I can wear it. I really don't know if they do club fit vs race fit vs scrawny euro fit though so if you can't try it on, I'd be leery.

Nice quality though.

I have a few of their jerseys and they all have a zippered pocket... but I am not certain that's true for the entire line.

How are the bibs sized? Do I need to size up or are they true to size?

Best to read reviews, but I am pretty sure you'd treat them like most every other Euro brand -- size up one.

I wear a medium in pretty much everything, so that's what I ordered. My bibs will be here tomorrow so we'll see. Supposed to be in the high 30's on Sat and Sun morning so I'll get to test them out.

I bought two ProBikeKit branded Sportful summer jerseys. Good stuff, and I find the sizing snug but not overly tight (it's not an aero jersey). Compared to the Castelli Volata, it's roomy. I'd call it a racy-club fit. Not as tight as a race fit, and not as tee-shirt loose as a club fit.

For the price, can't go wrong...

I have a Grupetto Kit that I bought from CC last summer. That is their mid range and it is probably my favorite kit that I have now. I normally wear PI and Girodnana.

Good stuff.

Most of my Mapei kits are from sportful . The quality of their clothes are very good since I am still wearing them . You do have to watch out for their size since it runs smaller than the North America size .
