I'm guessing somebody tightened the wrong side of the original seatbolt and stripped out the "keyed" nut. Pretty common mistake; oddball remedy. :)

When I relist bikes I always change the "profile" pic that buyers see. Many folks won't look at revised ads with the same pic.

You install the front derailleur in the correct position, you install the cable correctly, and beyond that there is no real cable adjustment. You simply set the derailleur travel with the limit...

Yes it's similar, except there is no hard stop in any direction. There is just the one obvious detent at about 15° as you described.

I have a 105 front downtube shifter with issues. It seems to have one "detent" and no real stops to its' travel either direction. When the shifter is in its one detented (is that a word?)...

I have already reassembled the hubs with the dust caps back where they came from. I believe they pressed two different cups into the hub; realizing the error they used different dust caps.
