Update. After 4 years or about 4000km of riding. The fix that I did was good. The wheel has no play. My dahon helios is great.

Dahon Kenitix Neutron Front Hub problem

Update and correction.

The 2.3cm bearing tube is forced fit to the end cap not the bearing. There is a stopper inside the hub body which should prevent the bearing tube from slide out of the end...
