Fixies have the advantage that you can modulate your speed without grabbing the brakes, and they are easier to climb with than a freewheel bike...

That's right. You have to go OUTSIDE of Seattle to get good biking. I don't think Seattle itself is very good for biking, and I don't understand how it always makes the lists of best bicycling...
