Dating a Nishiki question

So im curious if any of you guys have information on how to date a Nishiki Sport correctly. The serial number is on the right rear dropout and its a Sport model with 4130 Chromoly tubing I believe....

Im up in Bellingham and I have seen a decent amount around the area. I mean we are known for the whole hippie-ish thing which brings a lot of the trendy stuff but I can recall at least 8-10 I think.
