I've already got a 11-32 rear cog. If I remember playing round with gear calculators I don't think increasing it to 34t will give me the change in gearing that I'm after.

I'm not sure of the terminology but at the front, right next to the axle, there are two holes on the metal. I think that the bottom ends of a rack is meant to go through these holes. Perhaps 15cm...
