When you apply back force through the pedals to the chain, the tensioner collapses. You can't push a tensioner back, but you can easily bring it forward. This is like back pedaling.

I had the bullfrog, it worked okay but definitely didn't give me the feeling of "safe". I went out a got a superflash the other day, and a crazy high powered head lamp. Now I feel safe.

I like them plenty. I had some promanade style bars before these, and the hand positions felt too spread out. These are a bit more compact. Be sure to post some pictures when you get them on the rig!
