Yeah!!! "NEED" is kind of subjective, but to me, music is a "need". I think the SB1s are less intrusive than headphones cuz you don't have a cord running from pocket to head.

IRO Mark Vs are pretty good for tricks. I think ur handlebar/fork setup are really important to setting the bike up for flatland stuff.
