FWIW, I just converted my 2018 Diverge from 105 11/34 to an 46/30 11/40.

I swapped the RD to an Ultegra 5800 GS, and it shifts just fine. There's even some B screw left.

It's a non-issue, and very common in non-machined rims. Riding the bike for a few hundred miles will smooth it out.
