I'd suggest getting your your LBS for a fitting. They are pretty inexpensive and will really help as you start to ride further. If you don't have them yet get some bike shorts they are a must!

I would take the time to find out just how bad "the fun stuff" is. Take that information and use it to calculate how long you would have to ride or exersise to burn it off. This worked very well...
