I started running before cycling. Although I took time to both ease into it AND to learn proper form, it was just too hard on the body. Switched to cycling and never looked back. Sooo much better.

All I can say is, if you were even "warming up" at 20mph plus for 15 miles, I'm impressed. I never average that speed for that far and consider myself in pretty good shape.
