I run a DA crank with Campy record and it works just fine. I also have run shimano cassettes with it and campy casettes on shimano and it all works just fine and there are no miss shifts or anything...

Macalus are made of merlin extra light tubing and the geometry is very similar to the tuscany. They are great bikes and while excel was selling them they were preaty well priced for a Ti frame.
