I did look at those, and the Ergonova, but 3T bars flare quite a bit and they don't go above 44cm, so they'd be too small.

I assume that's measuring the bone rather than the muscle? On that basis it's about 20 inches or 50cm. Does that suggest a particular ideal bar width?

Compact bars with genuine 44cm width at hoods?

Hi, I've done quite a bit of searching/reading on this but haven't found a definitive answer.

I'm currently using Deda Newton anatomic bend, 46cm edge-to-edge. Because the drops don't flare out on...

I'm now interested in how many brands of bars do have the "narrower on the bends" style, and how many have the "boxy" shape. Anyone care to throw in some names?

My point was that the old bars WERE 44cm c-to-c, on the drops. But only 42cm c-to-c on the bends. So they shouldn't really have been sold as 44 c-to-c.

I thought it was about time to change my 6-year-old 3T bars, so I got some Deda Newtons that I thought would be the same size - the 3Ts were sold to me as 44cm c-to-c, the Dedas 46 edge-to-edge....
