Thanks for all the suggestions, I will try and find a thin piece of tubing to surround the screw and act like a bearing. Brass would be nice if I can find the right size, or maybe vinyl hose.

I have my cables running across the screws that hold my lock. The deflection is pretty small. Anyone think this will be a problem?
