I'm willing to bet the average cyclist out there does not have normal sinus rhythm at their maximum heart rate. If so, I'd be one of the fastest cyclist in the world.

Not strange at all! I'd expect at least 30 minutes with the bike alone. There's no way to find out if there are hot spots, if you'll develop weird elbow pain, etc by going around the parking lot.
